Want to learn to become a game ranger or ride in a helicopter with game rangers looking to dart and relocate a Rhino? How about a tour of Nelson Mandela’s cell with someone who spent time in prison with
Mr. Mandela? We can do that for you!

Sabi Sands and our Safari Philosophy

Sabi Sands is what visitors from all over the world come to experience: raw, untouched nature. The name 'Sabie' comes from the Zulu 'eSaba', meaning 'afraid'. Both man and beast approach the river with care and respect. It is at once a sanctuary of life and a gripping display of survival. Sabi Sands is sure to excite travelers with awe and wonder.

Both Terence and Richard share a lifetime passion for Africa and her wildlife. For each of them, going on a safari is an almost religious experience. And like religion, those who are fanatical do not want it watered down or compromised in the least bit.

A trademark of any Phamba tour will be the Safari Experience. Levy and Levin both support and strongly endorse the Greater Kruger National Park and Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve. The reason for this is three-fold:

  • Sabi Sands is approximately 65,000 hectares (approx. 650 sq. km) of unspoiled African wilderness adjacent to the world famous Kruger National Park. There are no fences preventing the natural migration of animals across the border between Sabi Sands and Kruger National Park.
  • The prevalence of Africa's big game and specifically apex predators in the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve is world class.
  • Guests stay only at luxury game lodges run by competent staff and operators. The level of knowledge required for a ranger or tracker to work at the lodges we endorse is very discerning. We trust in the ability of the lodges we endorse
    to deliver on Phamba's promise.

We strongly encourage any tourist visiting South Africa to experience a visit to the Greater Kruger National Park and Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve.

There are other regions in Africa that rival the vastness of the Greater Kruger National Park and Sabi Sands. They include:

Botswana: The Okavango Delta and Chobe
Zambia: South Luangwe National Park
Kenya: The Greater Masai Mara National Park
Tanzania: The Ngorongoro National Park

Tours to these other locations are also available.
